Last updated: September 2026. Template — have a lawyer review it before relying on it, especially before you have paying customers in states other than California.
Etiquette Trainer is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. By creating an account you confirm you're old enough, under the laws of where you live, to agree to these terms.
Etiquette Trainer is an online self-study course in modern etiquette. Day 1 of the course is free for every account, no payment method required. Continuing past Day 1 starts a $10/month membership that gives you personal, non-transferable access to all course materials for as long as your membership is active, including updates we make to the content.
You're responsible for keeping your password private and for activity under your account. One membership covers one person; please don't share your login. If you'd like to give the course to someone else, email us and we'll attach it to the recipient's account instead.
Your membership is a recurring subscription: when you unlock the full course it bills $10/month, starting when you subscribe and renewing every month at that price until you cancel. Day 1 of the course is the free part and needs no payment method — there is no separate free trial. There's no minimum term and no cancellation fee. If we ever change the price, we'll tell you in advance, by email or in the app, before the new price takes effect on your next renewal.
Cancellation is self-serve: open Settings in the app while signed in and click Cancel membership. That takes you to a secure Stripe page where canceling takes one click — no email, call, or waiting on hold required. Cancel anytime and you'll keep access through the end of the billing period you already paid for; we don't prorate or refund the current period, but see "Refunds" below if something went wrong. If the in-app cancellation ever isn't working for you, email us and we'll cancel it manually, right away.
If a charge doesn't seem right, email us within 14 days of that charge and we'll make it right.
All lessons, flashcards, scenarios and missions are original material owned by Etiquette Trainer. You may use them for your own learning. You may not copy, resell, or republish them; the app is also not a mechanism for downloading course content — cosmetic wardrobe items and course-progress sharing are the only things designed to be shared outward.
Etiquette Trainer is for general education. Etiquette is a set of social norms, not law, and those norms vary by place, culture and setting. The course reflects mainstream American practice in 2026 and flags disagreement where it exists, but it is not legal, medical, financial, career, or other professional advice, it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation, and we can't guarantee any particular outcome from following it.
The service and all course content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that following any lesson will produce any particular result.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Etiquette Trainer and the people who work on it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits or data, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or twenty U.S. dollars. Some places don't allow certain of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used the service or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs (including legal fees) we incur as a result, to the extent the claim was caused by what you did.
You can stop any time by cancelling and, if you wish, asking us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, breaks these terms, or is used to copy or redistribute the course — and, where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing anything, please email us first — most issues are a quick fix, and we'll try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days.
If that doesn't resolve it, you and Etiquette Trainer agree to settle any remaining dispute by binding individual arbitration — not a court and not a class action — administered under the consumer rules of a recognized U.S. arbitration provider, seated in or near Fresno County, California, or held remotely. Either of us may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court. To the extent permitted by law, class actions and jury trials are waived. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these terms by emailing us; opting out doesn't affect the rest of these terms.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
